Warm and Whimsical Willow Grange Farm Wedding
Tradition meets Boho, festival style wedding with super chilled reception at Willow Grange Farm near Cambridge.
As much as I love travelling the UK beyond shooting weddings It’s always a real joy for me to shoot one on my doorstep.
Roz and Josh live in the Cambridgeshire village of Little Downham just a 5 minute drive from my home City of Ely. I joined the bride and her bridal party at Roz’s Little Downham home for a few prep shots before we headed over to the local church for the ceremony.
Willow Grange Farm Wedding Reception.
The bride and groom decided they wanted to make the most of the gorgeous wedding venue they had chosen so we all headed straight over to Willow Grange Farm immediately after the couple had ties the know in Church.
If you love an alternative wedding venue that oozes rustic charm, with buildings that are full of character and texture and has loads of wide-open space and big skies then Willow Grange Farm could be just the venue for you and your wedding
Welcome drinks took place in the beautifully converted Silo Barn. The large space retains most of it’s original features combined with a stunning wall of reclaimed wood that adds warmth to the building. The ceiling is draped in fairy lights to complete a stunning and unique look and feel.
The meal and speeches took place in the semi-permanent Sperry in the rear field of the farm so everything is is close proximity.
For couple photos we were absolutely spoiled for choice, Willow Grange Farm has so many amazing backdrops, colours and textures that as a wedding photographer it would be easy to get carried away and spend a hour exploring all of the great portrait locations available.
As the sun went down we made the most of the wide open spaces and big skies of the fens for a few final portraits before everyone headed back into the Sperry to dace the night away as the Sax Walker played along to classic club anthems which was a massive hit with the guests.

Clara (who runs & lives on the farm) and her now husband Errol got married on the there in April 2019 and loved it so much that they wanted to open it up for others to enjoy, offering weddings, social parties, glamping and events. So while the Farm is long established as a venue it’s an exciting new venture.
Relaxed Weddings
When I first visited the farm to meet Clara she explained her vision for the venue and I instantly knew it would be a great fit for me as a wedding photographer.
As a photographer that loves to shoot non-traditional and quirky weddings, it really ticks all the boxes for me. The buildings have bucket loads of character with loads of awesome nooks and cranies. The opportunities for capturing stunning couple portraits are plentiful. The textures and colours of the rustic buildings are fabulous and the light in the barns is so beautiful it genuinely excites me!
If I can, I always love to shoot softly lit golden hour portraits and the vast open fenland skies with big open fields mean this can be achieved with ease (if the weather is good of course)
