Awesome Couple’s Super Chic London Wedding

Your Narrative blog will appear here, click preview to see it live.As with so many of my weddings in 2021, Sarah and Chris’s super chic London wedding was originally scheduled to take place during the Summer of 2020. The biggest difference this time around was that two had become three and the couple now had a young son Stanley, who at just 3 months was THE VIP wedding guest.
We kicked off in the stunning Town Hall Hotel and Apartments building near Bethnal Green in vibrant East London.
The suite Sarah had chosen was stunning, full of amazing light and really spacious with ample room for everyone to relax and enjoy the morning’s preparations. There were 4 Bridesmaids, Sarah’s parents and Stanley but everyone still had plenty of space to get ready and enjoy a glass or two of bubbles..
We had to make use of the grand staircase and building frontage – they were just to good not to stop by for a quick couple of shots before jumping in a black cab and heading over to Hackney Town Hall for the civil ceremony. Hackney Town Hall is an iconic wedding ceremony venue and Sarah had said it was always the plan to tie the knot there wherever else they chose for the rest of the day’s celebrations.
After the ceremony I jumped into a London cab with the newlyweds as we headed towards the City of London. Sarah had told me before the wedding how much she and Chris wanted to capture a few couple portraits in some lesser known spots off the beaten track in the capital, with one or two more recognisable landmarks as well.
Despite the rain we strolled around Old Billingsgate and along the South bank capturing moments as we went, before heading into the square mile, stopping by at the stunning St-Dunstan-In-The-East gardens along the way.
Our final destination for the day was Leadenhall Market where The Lamb Tavern were laying on the reception. The relaxed vibes were fab, as was my first encounter with the uber talented artist Aaron (The Wedding Illustrator). Aaron worked tirelessly to provide guests with painted portraits while still managing to put together some incredible artwork of the ceremony from earlier in the day. Such a talented artist, he was a joy to work alongside.
As the party mood ramped up, guests descended into “Old Tom’s Bar’ in the basement of The Lamb Tavern for top tunes and a packed dance floor.

The Lamb Tavern
Situated in the heart of the City of London and just a couple of minutes walk away from Liverpool Street, Bank and Monument stations.
A popular choice for City workers during the week and the passing tourist trade at weekends, you can be sure to find a spot in our outside area to enjoy a drink and watch the world go by.
