I need to say this right away—I ADORE being an Old Hall Ely wedding photographer! Not only is it one of the most beautiful venues in Cambridgeshire, but it also holds a special place in my heart. Ely became my home in 2011, and The Old Hall was where my journey as a wedding photographer truly began back in 2017. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless love stories here, watching the venue evolve while remaining as magical as ever.

One of the best things about photographing weddings at The Old Hall is discovering fresh ways to showcase its beauty every time I shoot there. With its sweeping driveway, immaculately manicured gardens, and breathtaking views of Ely Cathedral, this exclusive-use venue provides an elegant and picturesque setting for weddings of all styles and sizes.

The changing light at The Old Hall is something special—soft and golden in the evening, crisp and bright in the morning—ensuring that every wedding feels unique. It was during my first portrait session here, capturing a newlywed couple framed by the stunning view of Ely Cathedral, that I knew The Old Hall would always be one of my favourite wedding venues.

Of course, I also take time to create beautiful couple portraits and group photographs, but I always keep these sessions relaxed and efficient—never more than 15-20 minutes—so that you can fully enjoy your special day.

The Pavilion: Perfect for an outdoor wedding, this lakeside gazebo setting is nothing short of magical, with panoramic countryside views and Ely Cathedral as your backdrop.
The Grand Hall: An elegant space ideal for intimate ceremonies or pre-dinner drinks, featuring high ceilings, sophisticated decor, and warm lighting.
The Marquee: Where the wedding breakfast and evening reception take place, offering a beautifully decorated, spacious setting for dining and dancing. A unique feature is the hidden dance floor, revealed just in time for the first dance, transforming the space for the evening party!
The Gardens & Lake: From grand confetti shots on the lawn to romantic portraits by the lake, the grounds provide endless photo opportunities.

The Cromwell Room, named after Oliver Cromwell (who had a house in Ely), serves as the premier bridal prep suite. With its spacious layout, elegant decor, and large windows flooding the space with natural light, it’s a dream location for morning preparations.
