Hampton Court House Wedding Ceremony

Hampton Court House Wedding Photography | Jess & Stephen’s Elegant Summer Wedding

Jess and Stephen’s wedding at Hampton Court House was one of those days where everything felt perfectly aligned — a beautiful couple, a considered celebration, and a venue that quietly impresses at every turn. It was a wedding that felt calm, elegant and completely unforced, making it an ideal fit for my approach to Hampton Court House wedding photography.

Before sharing more about the day itself, it’s worth starting with the couple’s own words:

“On the day, Damien’s priority was first and foremost the comfort and enjoyment of us as a couple and of our guests. This more informal style suited us perfectly — and the pictures are brilliant too.”

Feedback like this means a great deal, particularly at venues like Hampton Court House, where atmosphere and flow matter just as much as aesthetics.

Hampton Court House Wedding Venue

A Hampton Court House wedding had been on my list for some time. Having seen the venue featured by other photographers and suppliers, I knew it would suit my natural, documentary-led style — offering both open space and striking architectural features in equal measure.

After photographing bridal preparations at the family home in nearby Kingston upon Thames, we made the short journey over to Hampton Court House. Approaching the venue, it’s impossible not to notice its famous neighbour — Hampton Court Palace, once home to Henry VIII. While the palace may dominate the skyline, Hampton Court House is very much a destination in its own right: refined, elegant and quietly impressive.

Set within nine acres of landscaped grounds, the venue feels wonderfully self-contained. On this particularly hot August day, the palm trees and shaded gardens offered welcome relief for guests, creating a relaxed, holiday-like atmosphere without ever losing its sense of formality.

Hampton Court House Civil Ceremony

Hampton Court House is a superb setting for civil ceremonies. This Georgian mansion is elegance personified — impressive without being overwhelming, and beautifully balanced in scale.

Guests enter via the grand front steps, passing through large double doors into the ceremony room, which is flooded with natural light. The proportions of the room create a gentle arc in the seating layout, fostering an intimate feel while still retaining a sense of occasion. It’s a space that works exceptionally well photographically, allowing moments to unfold naturally and without distraction.

For couples drawn to refined London venues, this is one of the standout ceremony spaces available.

Hampton Court House Wedding Reception

Following the ceremony, celebrations flowed seamlessly into the reception spaces. Hampton Court House features a grand dining hall alongside an adjoining conservatory, accommodating up to 150 seated guests.

The dining hall’s black-and-white chequered floor, paired with soaring ceilings, creates a striking yet timeless setting — particularly well suited to speeches and shared moments. Adjacent to this, the conservatory features marble pillars and elegant chandeliers, softened by the natural light pouring in through the glass ceiling. On Jess and Stephen’s day, this space became the dance floor, transitioning effortlessly from day to evening.

Outside, the courtyard provided the perfect setting for a drinks reception. With its chequered flooring, palm trees and architectural symmetry, it offered a vibrant yet refined backdrop for candid wedding photographs — one of the many reasons Hampton Court House wedding photography works so beautifully.

Wedding Photography at Hampton Court House

One of the great strengths of Hampton Court House is how fluid the day feels. Guests can move naturally between spaces, and there’s always somewhere beautiful to pause, talk, or simply enjoy the surroundings.

This sense of ease is invaluable from a photography perspective. It allows the story of the day to unfold organically — capturing real interactions, unguarded expressions, and moments of connection without interruption.
